It is always interesting to see the creative and nonviolent ways to protest and stand up for something that you believe in. Catherine Mazza did just that by creating a way for individuals throughout the community to express their beliefs in a safe and eager environment by establishing a mask project for senators as a way to support the coming home of soldiers. Another thing that caught my attention from the readings was a point made by a male knitter. He basically just stated that many people feel uncomfortable when they see him knit because it is a task that is generally associated with women. It was cool to read what he had to say about how he enjoyed it because it was a way he too could express himself in a non confrontational way just like the women. I also learned about the Revolutionary Knitting Circle and its efforts to bring about awareness for global justice by using tools that are everyday tasks.
