I found it very interesting to learn how the founder of the Revolutionary Knitting Circle group was a male, one would automatically assume that it would have been a female but in this case, it wasn’t. With this it was proven that not only women can use the beauty of craftivism to stand up for what they believe in. Knowing that the Revolutionary Knitting circle made in impact in Canada, USA, and many parts of Europe is fascinating. Also, with the groups being composed of both genders, different ages and races helped deteriorate the stereotypes. As stated in the article about knitters stitching for the Senate, “Charitable knitting during wartime is an American tradition…”, Catherine Mazza organized a project that focused on art, patriotism, and resistance. This project consisted of helmet liners knitted for US senators to show support to the troops by bringing them home.
