As I learn more from this class and as I dig deeper into craftivism, I find it fascinating how each article we read dig deeper into what is going on in the world today. By reading “A stitch in time: how craftivists found their radical voice” gives people a type of voice that will help change laws and business policies, as well as hearts and minds. This article helps me to understand the importance of this type of activism. It helps bring a peaceful contrast to those of the more aggressive/assertive type of protest. The art, time, dedication to a cause can bring light to someone’s true feeling that will make them want to change. We especially see this in “The Revolutionary Knitting Circle Proclamation of Constructive Revolution” .do you in this article the diversity of women and how it was a major part in breaking gender norms that will help contribute to the movement of the time. While the gender norms for still being challenged even today, we can see that even at the beginning of time that these knitting circles were more than just a woman’s home.
