It’s fairly interesting that the idea of knitting as a form of protest can conceptualize humanity in general; humans are many things, aggressive, forceful, angry- but we are also kind, compassionate, and patient. Having the act of knitting in quiet circles or creating large woven banners and colored hats reminds an observer that both kinds of protest and resistance are valuable. In a way, expressing both and in turn having both be heard is the sole reason for protest at its roots- to fight for justice and balance, and most of all human rights. To preserve these aspects of humanity that we all share, whether they be good or bad. We need peacemakers as much as we need instigators.
