I found the article that talked about knitting in public spaces and how that helped to spark conversation to be very interesting. While this type of craftivism may not get the attention that the activists from the G8 Summit received it is a more grassroots method. I think that is one of the most powerful forces of change. Additionally, as we have discussed in past classes, knitting is often perceived as something only a certain type of person does yet their movement allows for more diversity. In addition to providing the activists a space to de-stress it does so while simultaneously allowing them to inform other people about what they are fighting for.
