From the readings, the power of knitting and activism presents a unique and impactful way of fighting for a social cause. Over the course of reading, the overall idea resounding around craftivism is to serve the purpose to present both beauty and voice to make a difference. One of the things I found to be very powerful and impactful is the LA project that was in response to Black Lives Matter. With social issues like racism, for instance, I see it as sensitive and could potentially cause intimidation, specifically in the knitting community. For me, when I’m either drawing/painting/crocheting, depending on what I doing, I would always plan and research because in the end like others, I would my work to look presentable and leave people thinking.
