This article interested me because of how this group of women show empowerment through knitting. The article says that this group of women knits in public places as a group so when people see them and ask what they are knitting they can bring up important topics for conversation such as racism or feminism and among other important topics. This stood out to me because knitting to me is usually something I do for fun and not a way of starting conversations so I am curious as to how other people see it. When strangers are walking by and see a group of women knitting in the park will they think anything of it? Personally I think it would be really cool to have these important conversations because listening to others can open peoples eyes which can create perspective.
