The Guardian article talked about how “knitting for black liberation” was a way to start a conversation with about about racial injustice and inequality. I think that this is a really practical way to reach about who aren’t normally going to be touch by the traditional ways of protesting we see today. It is the idea of quiet activism that we’ve talked about before. I think that this could also be a way to get a lot more people involved in activism. For example, I am from a really small town in Florida. With everything this summer, the closest protest that was happing near me was Atlanta. Something like this could be a way to get more rural communities involved in activism. This could be a simple way to get a lot more people talking about the subject and actually having them participate.
