I thought the temperature scarves were actually really cool. I never thought about putting important information into a scarf, but since knitting is seen as a hobby it would be perfect. This reminded me of the article we read about the women who used knitting to sneak information into the soldiers. I thought it was also cool how the scarves were a way for everyone to understand the changes in temperature. Graphs and charts confuse some people or look intimidating, but scarves look warm and inviting.
The Knitting Nannas group really caught my attention, especially since one lady is 93. Although they fit the typical stereotype of knitting being for older women, I did not think about them knitting for a cause. I liked the way they brought their rocking chairs to the protest. I just found it comical. I thought the last statement that said "when your 90-year-old gran is hitting the streets to campaign for change, you know that things have got to change" was a very smart way to end the article. How many people have to protest in order to catch the attention of Shell?
