When reading the first article, I had seen something similar before on social media, but I had never seen anyone knit a blanket according to the weather. I had seen mood charts for the year done in journals, calendars, and things of that nature, but never a hand made blanket. I think that is really cool, and the time and dedication it takes to do something like is above and beyond. The last article is not so much about knitting, but about a demographic that we associate with knitting more often than not. I love that even at their age, as one lady is approaching her 93rd birthday, the Raging Grannies still have the same spunk and commitment to environmental issues as they mostly likely had throughout their lives. They use song to tell get their message across, which may be more common than knitting, but it definitely stands out. If you were to walk by and see a group of older ladies with signs and banners singing, you would most likely stop to listen at least for a little bit. It is also very telling that if these women find it so important to protest in such a way, then there must be a real problem. It's not every day you see a group of "raging grannies" singing about the dangers of oil rigs.
