I found that the quilt serving as an educational purpose and for so many years as very interesting. I liked the idea of it telling personal stories through each square on the massive quilt. Something we may have thought died out a while ago is still relevant today and that is told through the hundreds of stories and pieces put into one large quilt. It serves as a reminder that people still struggle with this and that those who struggle are not alone. It seemingly creates a community of support and love for everyone in it. It made me realize that just because something is not first story on the news, does not mean that it is not happening in people's lives around me.
