This week's reading on the Aids quilt, along with last week's readings of the black lives matter movement, have been the most effective with their messages to me. The imagery in this article deeply resonates with the viewer. The piece featuring the aids victim surround by bright patterns is the first time I've seen the portrayal of personality and life that the victims had before this disease took from them, which is shown by the quilt surrounding him with the bold patterns and such. During the aids epidemic the individuals with it were treated poorly by society and it breaks my heart and there are few images that show the sense of life the victims had. Also, another image that was striking was the quilt panel the one individual made that had his diagnosis day and saying that he would be dead as the viewer read it. The project would be a terrifying one to make, but it deeply resonated with me and I think it will stay in my mind for a long time.
