In resemblance to our class project of the mini face masks to represent the deaths of COVID-19, I would say that this is very heartwarming, inspiring, and close to the heart to those have lost loved ones. The quilts were such a phenomenal way to memorialize those who died due to HIV/AIDS. In the first paragraph, the sentence that said, “As he became more ill, he became more and more vibrantly colored and surrounded with pattern. More full of life in a way” was really captivating. That gave me a better understanding of how each quilt was specifically designed for each individual. For example, the panels were painted or used markers and pens. The panels also included different personal symbols, such as rainbows, balloons, hearts, flags, and teddy bears. I think the most neat part was that they included their favorite vacation destinations.
