While reading the text, something that stood out to me was the different way that AIDS was viewed in the reading. Something that kind of hit me was the way people would write something about themselves one the quilt and end it with " if you are reading this I am dead." I was just surprised at how people would already count themselves out of the game and put death on their life that fast. Then as almost anything people do now comes with hate, people were hating on the people with AIDS and all they were trying to do is raise some awareness and hoping their life would be remembered just as the others on the quilt.
