Individual factors that have influenced entrepreneurship throughout history include; need for monetary compensation and security, personal pride and goal-setting, having a sense of independence, moving on from one's current obligation or occupation, and desire to simply change. Societal factors that have influenced entrepreneurship throughout history include; varying and shifting political systems, advancements in modern technology, trends in society, and culture.
