I am a business major with a marketing concentration. I am definitely leaning towards becoming an entrepreneur and running a success business. In my study’s within my major I have had two professors that have played an active role in my entrepreneurship thinking. These two professors are Dr. Shoreibah who taught my marketing courses and Dr. Lester who taught my business course. Both laid a foundation for entrepreneurial thinking by creating a course plan that was based around critical thinking in regards to how to properly manage a successful business. As for marketing Dr. Shoreibah course plan was based around understanding your target market and how doing so maximizes the success of your business.

If an entrepreneur was only evaluated at one phase of the entrepreneurial process two things could happen.. The first thing that could happen is the entrepreneur can dive into a business venture that is not for he/she. The entrepreneur influence can be solely money base which can ultimately fail the business if he or she has a lack of high interest or passion for the business venture in which they are embarking. It is important to make sure that an entrepreneur has all the characteristics that makes up a good entrepreneur including being efficient, dedicated, passionate, a hard worker and many other things.

As a senior at Birmingham-Southern who has an aspiration of becoming an owner of many businesses and investment, the phase over the next five years to achieve such goals includes: (1) Continue to run my current small Notary business and apply information from my coursework as I learn to help better the business. (2) Post graduation I plan to study my target audience in the notary world. (3) Identify my target market and begin to market myself nationwide to become a preferred notary to various companies. (4) Gain extensive knowledge, become more efficient and expand.
