We are working in the cleaning/maintenance sector and working to have students fulfill everyday chores and tasks around BSC.
Students lack awareness of potential job opportunities around campus due to a lack of information.
Many students need work while lacking the time or resources to do so off-campus
Students also lack an option to offer payment towards others for certain services.
All options are through the school as of now
Students will be interested in these services to allow themselves to make money aside from day to day tasks
Students will be interested in having other students fulfill certain needs they may not have time for
The school and staff are also stakeholders who benefit from the part-time work of students
Students lacking awareness of job opportunities hinders the ability to not only make money but also save time driving to a part-time or trying to squeeze in schedules between classes. Students lacking money only makes them more eager for opportunities.
Students not having the ability to put out a job offer wastes their time if they have better things to do. Also, by not allowing other students to do laundry/take out the trash, etc then the students may have worse living situations and inconveniences.
Schools not offering a multitude of student jobs may negatively impact the campus. They may spend more money on staff, and also run the risks of too many students off campus doing less productive things. This may also be an appeal to future students who have an awareness of the money that can be made. A full economy of part-time work on a small campus can help everybody.
Our issues are that there isn't enough exposure to the current available ways for students to earn money on campus. On top of that, there is not enough choices for students to choose from. We have not been able to find any competitors except for what's already available on campus.
Yes, however, we need to do more research on ways to make a website and or interface that allows for easy access. If jobs can’t be taken up within a day or so then it defeats the purpose. Also, we will need to research the legality of taxable income for money that is transferred from student to student.
Yes, we would like to continue with the idea.
