Something that caught my attention in The Original Green Campaign was the importance of the color green and how Gregory the Great saw nature and God together. Gregory believed that there was a correlation between God's grace and the amount of green grass and plants around the land. The green grass also symbolizes fertility and the hopes of a good future ahead, and the greening of land can refer "to the heart in one's personal transformation." It is amazing to me that someone can make these connections out of something so simple like green grass.
