2. How do we differentiate from competitors?
We will specifically target college students and provide healthy, fresh food at a convenience and low cost
Many of our competitors include a delivery service (which costs money) whereas our service will be directly available to students on their college campus.
And other healthy vending machines are mostly filled with snacks whereas ours will provide full meals.
Have partnerships with local grocery stores and restaurants to reuse their unwanted produce.
-supermarkets throw out most of their produce after one day
-eliminate food waste by giving unpurchased food from our vending machines to a local homeless shelter
Plans to eventually startup a non-profit organization in which we can partner with other companies in giving out unwanted products to the homeless not only in Birmingham but around the country.
3. What specific problems within our idea will we focus on?
Providing healthy fresh food and eliminating food waste
4. Is it a proposed product, service or both?
Both - providing products while providing a service of giving unsold inventory to homeless shelters
Yes we need both to differentiate - have freshly made meals and then providing this unique service
5. What’re the specific components of your potential solution that uniquely solve this problem?
Affordable cost (removes the cost of a delivery fee for students)
Convenience for pre-packaged food
Encourage a healthy lifestyle
Access to the food right on campus
6. What specific questions does this analysis raise for you in terms of evaluating the viability of your idea?
Shelf life of food?
Conditions for placing the vending machines on campuses?
Regulations and guidelines for getting food from stores and restaurants?
Will there be a fee or percentage taken by the college?
Where will be make this food? And who will be making it? (we have to have someone who knows how to cook)
How often will be change the type of meals?
And how often will be restock the machines?
How much would we have to charge for these meals in order to make a profit?
