Raleigh uses this writing to illustrate the native people and their way of lives. He describes the way they carry on and complete daily task throughout this reading. Raleigh describes the native people almost like monsters just because of their different way of life. These depictions I think are what lead to how the Native people were treated later on. He uses this writing to almost give himself power over the native and to pint how naive they were because of all the gold anf riches they had and they didn't even know.
