Why are aseop’s fables important? What made them become so popular? That’s easy. Animals. Most kids love animals and stories about them, hence why Disney is so successful (it’s more than just the phenomenal plot lines). Fables are a good way to teach children lessons whether it is to share your food or be grateful for what you have, each fable always has a moral at the end of the story. The story of "The Two Mice" is an important lesson to be taught. It follows two mice sisters, one lives in the country and one lives in the city. They visit each others homes and while the country mouse does not have a large abundance or variety she is happy content and safe. The city mouse lives in constant fear and has to be frequently on the move, though she has better food. Greed is not always a good tradeoff when it means living in fear as well, it is better to be happy and content with life.
