Bestiary is a way of telling stories using animals that became popular for spreading Christian stories in medieval times. The way the stories were used seems to be a way to add more entertainment value to popular Christian stories. By using animals both real and make believe to retell these stories. The culture grew a more spiritual connection to nature. Now instead of a lion simply being a lion it was also a representation of Christ. Therefor those who had a strong belief in Christianity and used these stories were more drawn to animals and the natural world. This changed the view of nature for many. It became less about simply using the things found in nature to provide for ones needs and more about seeing nature as a gift from God and part of the Christian narrative.
