These epigrams were very interesting. They seemed to show compassion and emotion towards the animals that they were written about, and this is something that seems to have been missing from some of our other readings. They actually seems to show some type of connection to every creature, expressing sadness over their deaths.
This stood out to me, because this felt like the first time the writer of these poems showed their own emotions and feelings towards something, something individual. They were really fascinating.
