I thought the comment about "rich people" was hilarious. I can definitely see how that might fuel Marcus.
But, this mentality could also lead Marcus to get frustrated over not-so-obvious art posers. Perhaps he becomes intrigued with a budding artist, and only gradually realizes they are a poser. It frustrates him, so this leads to him killing that person. Whereas, a pompous rich person might be easy for Marcus to kill.
The big thing here is about Greg's character. Is he in Rome to "study" architecture? Or is actually an architect? If so, what is he working on? You should show us his work. Is it something that Marcus appreciates? Does Marcus have the ability to see architectural blueprints and envision how they will be when built?
