What I like about these ideas is that you are thinking about several different aspects of campus life. Like we discussed in class, you could almost develop a "commuter beat," in which you wrote about how commuters experience many different aspects of BSC.

My number #1 pick for the story due April 21 would be a profile of the new career counselor. I don't even know that person's name! And profiles are great fun to write. They are one-on-one explorations and you can work in any one of several formats.

My number #2 pick would be that story about arts and lecture credits. You could approach that as an explainer. And certain faculty members could help you understand why some events are credits and others aren't. Who could you interview for that story?

I think I will do the profile of the career counselor. I just met her today actually for a focus group. I was thinking I would interview her and, if necessary, Katy Smith. The two work together often.
