My favorite part about this assignment was seeing the joy and the determination through all the hard ships. It is often hard for us to understand the difficulties that people that are blind go through in life. I personally could not imagine being blind and trying to navigate through this crazy world. But more often than not, people that go through difficult challenges in life often have more determination and joy than anyone would ever expect. For example the video about Lily Grace tells how she is always smiling and how she has so much joy and determination. It would be very easy for someone that has a disability like Lily Grace to just want to give up and not do anything. But i am a huge believer that if a person has a little bit of determination and understands to enjoy the small things in life that they will be successful and that they will have a joyful life and they will be a bright light to everyone around them even through the challenges that they may go through.
I was thinking the same thing as I was watching the first video. It also made me happy to see how joyful she was all the time. It really makes me wonder how much I take for granted in my life. They way Lily Grace carries herself and celebrates the victories in her life inspire me to stay positive throughout my life, even when things aren't going the way I planned them.
I also loved watching her determination throughout this video. She shows up ready for school and is even ecxited. A big part of her excelling in this program is her teachers and their determination also. Lily is always ready to learn something new!
I agree with you Ethan it was powerful to see how joyful and determined all the time. The way that Lily Grace lives her life not letting her disability control her is an inspiration to me. Lily Grace showed me that no matter what I'm dealing with or going through someone else out there has it worse and I have nowhere to complain. Lily Graces story made me happy and inspired me.
