What is a small way you can change your life to protect those with latex allergies?

We can start protecting others with latex allergies by buying products without latex and avoiding them all together. I never knew how severe latex allergies can be, and it makes me a lot more mindful about the allergy.

I have known people with latex allergies but did not realize how many products latex is in. To help others who have this allergy we can be mindful of what we buy and what others may come in contact with if they have this allergy.

As someone who is allergic to a lot of things outside and most animals, I am no stranger to allergic reactions, and I can't imagine how difficult it must be for people who are allergic to latex because even the most sterile doctor's office can still pose a threat to you. I think it would make their lives easier if there were more latex alternatives that were easily available, so that a person with an allergy could just go to their local drug store and be able to choose a latex free version of whatever they need rather than having to go to a million stores to find it. If someone I know was allergic to latex I would make sure my house was stocked with allergy friendly alternatives, and I would help them to be on high alert when it comes to the items listed in the presentation and anything else that may contain latex.

I also didn't realize how many products have latex in them. You never really think about how people with latex allergies have to be mindful everyday to avoid certain products. I think it would be helpful to purchase latex free products so those with allergies don't have to worry about not be able to use the product.

There is latex in a lot more things than I thought. I know that there are alternative but I feel like there should be a solid alternative for latex that is used just as often as latex.

I never knew how latex effects people with a latex allergy. It was interesting to learn why latex irritates and harms the individual, for example how the cornstarch powder in the gloves and a carrier of the protein. To prevent others from coming into contact with latex, people could switch to using nitrile instead. Also getting used to asking people if they have a latex allergy and making that a common question.

A small way we could change is just being more aware! I had always wondered what happened when people with this allergy came in contact with latex. I have noticed almost every doctor's office now has latex-free gloves which is a step in the right direction!

I definitely did not realize how many products had latex in them, so I think the first step to protecting those with latex allergies is just being more aware. This presentation has helped me change the way I think about and interact with products with latex in them. I will most certainly be more aware of these products in the future and always ask the people around me if they have a latex allergy (if I am using latex).

I never realized the fatality risk posed to someone with a latex allergy. I feel like with that in mind there should be a stronger push for latex alternative products. I know they exist, but they should be more common I think

Never knew how much latex there is in a lot of products. I feel like alternate solutions or other options could help/
