I enjoy that Sydney’s story is titled something ominous, leading you to believe it could be a horror film. Instead, the film is lighthearted and humorous. I believe that some of the plot points could have been a bit more solid, giving the story more of a defined structure. The story itself wasn’t entirely exciting, although it is a great simple story for a shorter film where you don’t need to pay attention for too long. The setting of Red Mountain Park was clever and easily accessible. I think Sydney accomplished her goal and did it well!
Khalil’s story was interesting. The grammar and spelling could use a bit of improvement, as some flow of the story was interrupted by little mistakes, taking me away from the content itself. The setting would likely need to be artificial in some places, making shooting in Birmingham a bit difficult. The story was told well, although it seemed to follow the original biblical story near exactly. This made the concept lack originality, and, for some who are familiar with the Christian Bible, I fear it could bore them. I think the dramatization is nice and has a lot of potential. Great job!!
Dhruv’s story being set at BSC is awesome. Some grammar and punctuation issues arose, leaving me to have to figure out exactly what the story was meant to be conveying in terms of pauses, drama, suspense, etc. I like the element of Drake being a protector. It added a structure to the film immediately and established his role as a protagonist. The ending threw me off a bit. What exactly happened to Mike? Regardless, the energy in this film is high and kept my attention the entire time.
