1. Angela Basset’s career was jam packed full of notable movie and TV roles. Even if this is the case however, she still had to fight tremendously for the majority of her roles in her career. She has fought hard for the roles she got, and you can tell by some of the fierce performances she has throughout her career. Her career started off at a relatively good pace after her role in Waiting to Exhale considering she is a black woman in Hollywood, but eventually it really took off especially more in recent years like her roles in the Black Panther movies, as well as her supporting role in Mission Impossible Fallout. She is an extremely talented actress who deserves more starring roles in mainstream movies and hopefully as time goes on, she will gain these chances again like she did in the Tin Turner movie What’s Love Got to Do with It.
2. Samuel L. Jackson is one of the greatest movie stars of our time. I never realized just how many great movies he was in before I was even born. From Jackie Brown and Pulp Fiction to even small roles like in Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing and School Daze he has been an amazing actor for decades. It's crazy to me that back then though he wasn’t considered a movie star. He was often considered to be a character actor like Morgan Freeman, and it's even crazier to me that that’s what he wanted his career to originally be. It doesn’t surprise me though, that Freeman and Jackson were propelled to stardom in the years to come as they are some of the most talented actors in Hollywood today. I also find it crazy that Jackson was expelled from his college because he held trustee’s hostage to protest for the Black Studies Program. It's even funnier knowing that one of them was Martin Luther King Jr’s father. Looking at his roles and movies and how he acts on press tours however, his passionate and outspoken attitude shown through almost all of his roles he is in proves that he would be the type of person to do so. This attitude he has helped hi m become one of the best actors of our time.
