The film Set it off was a really fun watch to say the least. Seeing a friend group of four black women so fed up from their mistreatment from their community go from working at a janitorial company to robbing multiple banks was a really interesting plot. Learning that the budget was 9 million USD and half of that came from using “The Godfather” theme song for a two minute scene which was definitely worth it. Queen Latifas' character was my favorite because of her goofy and also aggressive personality, I think she played that role perfectly. Jada pickett’s role in the movie was very dark considering she dealt with the death of four friends and family members by the end of the movie. The one thing that made this movie kind of “iffy” for me was the role of Detective Strode played by John C. McGinley's as the white cop savior guy that was “just trying to help” at the end even though he shot an innocent black child who was unarmed was really pathetic to say the least. But all around I loved the movie and Dr. Dre should stick to music because he cannot act to save his dear life.
Glad you liked it. I don't necessarily agree about the McGinley character, but I can see where you are coming from.
