The Internet

This chapter talks about the internet and John Greens’ experience with it. He talks about when his family first got the internet and their experiences with it. His experiences in the CompuServe Teen Forum and his connections.

I believe his inspiration to write about the internet came from the experience he had when he was younger and when he got his job as a moderator. Also, the internet is being introduced for the first time. This was a major thing for his generation, going from having to go to the library to find a book on a topic to being able to search it up on the internet and reading right away.

This chapter I believe helped Green find a life of significance. He talks about how he enjoyed the internet so much when he was younger and all the friends he was making. When he was given the opportunity to become a moderator for the CompuServe Teen Forum and the free internet and extra phone line. But, as he has gotten older, he has started to dislike the internet and where it is going because it is always with him and not at his home.

I believe Green could have talked a little more about the internet for this chapter instead of telling only a story and his experiences with it. I liked how he talked about him finding the CompuServe Teen Forum and meeting people on it. Then him becoming a moderator on the forum and getting free internet and an extra phone line. I rate this chapter 3 stars.

Important topic indeed. The Internet is such a huge part of our lives. However, your response is too short (300-word minimum) and it contains too much summary. It does not give me much sense of your own thoughts. Why do you give it 3 stars? Expand on your own reaction and think about how this topic can help you in your search for a life of significance.
Also, you have some grammar errors. Always turn in error-free writing.
