I am reviewing the chapter of Teddy Bears. John green gave it two and a half stars. He discusses the juxtaposition of teddy bears. He talaks about bearbaiting and the mistreatment of the animals to begin his reviews. He discusses extinction also towards the end of the chapter. But he also discusses actual teddy bears and the comfort they provide you. They do not judge you, and they are simply there. When we think of teddy bears, we think of our childhood and reminisce on the good times. Almost every girl I know my age still has their childhood teddy bear including me. It has a deep meaning to us. I do not think this chapter showed John green how to life a life of significance and I do not think it showed me either. It was more a discussion with his opinions and what he thought about the contrasting views of bears. About how we are so scared of the actual species and endanger them but also find comfort of the species in a fake form. I think we do this with a lot of other things in real life. This chapter was short and did not provide much knowledgeable information that could be used as insight in my life, so I give it also two and a half stars.
Some good thoughts here, but you could probably use the topic to inspire further thought. A teddy bear itself does not have to lead to a life of significance, but thoughts can lead to inquiry which can inspire new thoughts.
