The Oscar history lesson is fascinating. Not surprised to learn about its origins. However, I'm not concerned about any current criticism of the Academy. It is composed of humans, who make mistakes. The writing category is generally made up of different people than the directing category, and "Best Picture" voters is a jumbled mess of all kinds of people who may not have any credibility. For Peele, this screenplay is truly next level, in my opinion.
