One thing I'm not sure about though--I don't think it is supposed to be set in the South. They drive to town from New York City. It seems like it's only a couple hours or so from the city. To me, it's almost more powerful if it is not set in the South, which would be too easy to criticize (however, it was indeed produced in Alabama).
