In the Film If Beale Street Could Talk I was completely taken away by everything, this movie was nothing what I thought it was going to be and completely overruled my expectations. I would talk about the plot line and how smooth it was or the actors and how well they made the film move with emotions but the main thing was the composing and that’s what made me rate this movie 5 stars. As soon as the film ended in class I opened up google to find who composed it and saw that it was Nicholas Britell who also composed Moonlight. This film is a perfect representation for what love feels like. The 10 minute scene where they go back to Fonny’s place and have sex was pure beauty and what made it was the composing, it didn’t feel awkward or too long it was perfect. The plotline of Fonny’s experience in the US as a black man facing unjustified criminal accusations was represented perfectly and most likely made an impact on how people look at others that are imprisoned without hard evidence. This was the first film that made me cry in 6 months and I’m really happy that I got to watch it and write about it.

So happy the film inspires you. I agree, it has an unexplainable way of reaching the audience and delivering emotion, even without really giving a strong narrative resolution.
