NO CLASS WED. 4/19 (and an Exemption)

Hi class,

We’re a little ahead of schedule on the Ch. 12 material, so I’m cancelling class today. We will keep on schedule by finishing up Parasomnias in class next Monday, so make sure you’re on task in terms of the syllabus. Enjoy this beautiful day and take a walk!

Second, I’ve been thinking a lot about IS2. I had some trimmed down alternatives planned, but upon reflection I am going to offer everyone in class an exemption for the project. Put simply, you don’t have to complete it. If you would like an alternative assignment, please reach out to me by Monday and let me know.

I came to this conclusion for two main reasons:

1) the rubric is for an elevator speech-style public speaking skill. You all have been a well-spoken class from Day 1, even amidst extraordinary stress. So… check.

2) we’ve kept on time and on task during this unprecedented semester, too. Frankly, you deserve a break.

If only one of those things was true, I wouldn’t be exempting the assignment. But they are both true, so I am.

I’m proud of y’all.

See you Monday,

Dr. Chandler
