Twin Peaks Color Scheme

The color scheme I chose is from the show Twin Peaks. While muted, warm, and not eye catching, it does serve the purpose of setting a tone and atmosphere for the show. Twin Peaks takes place in a seemingly ordinary Pacific Northwestern town and the color palette reflects this. Given the supernatural happenings of the show, the normal color palette serves to lull the viewer into a false sense of comfort, making the use of striking colors in a few scenes more effective.

One use for the color scheme could be for nostalgia marketing. When I see these colors, I do think of the past and good things associated with it. I could see a company using this palette for an advertisement.

Another use could be for a video game. With open-world games being popular, I could see these calming colors being used to put the player at ease while exploring before finding a spectacular location.

The colors that you chose remind me of the old-time pictures that you can get made in places like Gatlinburg.
