  1. Response to "Week One Reflection"
Amber, you did a good job in writing this discussion forum prompt. I think that the responses you will receive from this prompt would be great content for creating a tutorial or an in-class activity, especially if the responses are consistently bringing up something where the students are having issues with the solution.

  2. Response to Week One Reflection

Amber, I love that the question invites the student to consider area in which they need support to complete their understanding of the problem. As you clearly intend, This question: 1) ensures that "I don't understand" becomes a comfortable component of the class culture; 2) provides you invaluable insight into each student's thought process, and how to support their learning.

  3. Use and assessment of forum posts
Hi Amber, I like the idea of using forum posts to clear up "muddy points".  I am considering doing something similar. I am struggling to balance "assessment" of the forum posts and making sure they are useful.  Will you offer "point" incentives for students to complete these posts?  I want students to participate, so offering points seems appropriate, but I'm worried that posts might end up being just about the points, in which cases they won't be genuine or helpful.
