Copyright Challenges

A challenge with copyright in todays times is that information and images are so much easier to share than they used to be. Technology allows people to screenshot or copy completely and put their own name on anything. Copyright does not protect factual things. Making sure that if you do want to copyright something that you go through the proper process to make sure that you don't just claim it's yours and that you have actual documented proof.

Especially considering how expensive it is to copyright a single piece of work, as well as the process to get it copyrighted, sometimes seems unwarranted depending on the work itself.  Perhaps if the process itself were cheaper, and/or easier to complete, copyright issues wouldn't be as prevalent.  Thanks for the insight!

You are right, technology makes it very easy to browse the web, screenshot, and use a photo that is not yours. It is expensive to copyright, so I feel as if some take the easier path.

Technology does make it easy to browse and claim that a photo is yours. It can be very expensive, especially to start-ups and small businesses.
