I agree that the ease of downloading content from the internet combined with the lack of protection for copyrighted material is the culprit behind mass piracy today. Apps such as Youtube downloaders and AdmitMe (until it shut down) prove just how easy it is to override security measures and access just about any copyrighted material posted online. I even ran across a website that will give access to articles protected under subscriptions with just pasting the link. I agree that more measures need to be taken to stamp copyrighted material in a way that protects it from misuse more effectively, although this may be impossible against the Internet's power to spread info.
