Usability

With classes going remote, I have learned how to utilize Microsoft Teams. Teams is efficient because it allows everything to be in one spot. From your calendar, to your chat, to your virtual meeting, it is all only a click away. I also believe that Microsoft Teams is effective. By using Teams, students and faculty can teach, present notes, and host discussions.

I love Teams too! I much prefer it over Zoom. I think that having everything in one spot is so convenient and efficient. It makes me wonder why we even use Moodle, when we can just use Teams.

That's a great question, actually! Moodle has some usefulness, but I much prefer Google Classrooms. We were experimenting with it before campus shut down, but didn't have time to adopt it, so we're stuck with Moodle for a minute!

If you could improve one thing with Teams, what would you do?

I would love to see a restructure in the notification system that Teams uses. When people post on the team general message board, I do not get notifications, which causes me to read posts late when they are no longer relevant. Other than that, I think Teams is a perfect platform for the situation we are in!

I agree, the notification system could be better. I would like a more simple and direct notification, instead of a bunch of messages from everyone in the class overcrowding the professor's message. Maybe implement a hierarchy based on user type.

Agreed. Teams has been a great resource to stay connected with professors and students. It is made up of a very easy to use environment which enables professors to have a more fluid class as well as adding notes/takeaways in the chat to return to later, thus making it convenient for students too.
