Copyright Challenges

It is becoming increasingly difficult to preserve the integrity of an artist/author's work during the digital age due to the widespread and illicit use of technology by infringers. I think that it's going to be a losing battle to fight against the spread of something when it comes to technology. Whether it be news, a popular image/idea/person, etc, it will spread like wildfire on the internet. There's no stopping the spread of anything when it comes to technology. However, I believe that concepts such as creative commons and other applications such as this one are creating the space for a more usable, respectful, and sustainable platform for the exchange of creative pieces.

  1. Art Thieves
IN this digital day and age, many artists who post their stuff online have had to adapt to people stealing their work and posting it elsewhere as their own.  Creative commons help, but there are still a number of people who will take the work of someone else, then complain when that artist has a personal water mark on them because they wanted to use the artwork for themselves.  It's a long battle and there could be better ways than Creative Commons to combat this.
