Uber

I believe that Uber has a good mobile interface. Upon opening the app, a map appears with a prompt to enter the location you want to be taken to. There is no fooling around, you are able to open the app and request a ride quickly. The app uses the colors white, which represents innocence, purity, and new beginnings, while black represents luxury, sophistication, strength, and confidence.

I agree about the simplicity and effectiveness of the Uber app. It is quick and to the point. Uber is easy to use and the color schemes compliment each other without doing too much.

Uber is easy to use and also has lots of options but in a simple way. The app is easy to read because of the colors they use throughout the app. The app is also very useful which makes it popular with or without a good mobile design if you needed it bad enough.

I agree that the app has good mobile interface. I used Uber to get to and from work for the entire summer in Los Angeles. I found it to be efficient, responsive, and safe. However, I did get twisted up in a recurring charge after accidentally selecting the wrong "pass" (I was eligible for a pass since I was commuting so much). They could make it a little easier and clearer in directing passes/sales. I also found myself missing drivers a ton, because the map wasn't as fast as the drivers. There was a lag, and then I would miss my driver and would be charged a fee. They refunded these fees pretty easily, though, if you messaged them and said that it wasn't your fault that you missed your ride.

Yes! I do have to agree that it is not fun when you "miss" a driver because the app does not update fast enough. It is hard to pay the fee then turn back around and "order" another driver. I have never gotten my money back when this happened in the past, I will definitely keep this in mind.

What about Lyft? I agree with you but I think Uber attracts a certain type of crowd that seems to be a bit more business-like. The darker color scheme brings out the older business crowd. On the other hand, Lyft uses a white background and bright purple which I think is meant to attract the younger crowd.

Lyft has always tried to brand itself as the more "fun" service - they used to give their drivers these tacky pink mustaches to put on their cars!
