Course synchronous class activities

Dear Friends, as I begin to design my first online summer course, I'm worried about having too much or too little synchronous class activity. To help me prepare the course, I have created a student survey to understand student expectations and preferences. I sent the survey out today to 16 students who are registered so far, and 9 students have responded so far. 

Morning and evening are the most popular times so far (5 positive responses each, not sure how the math works out that way). Five students prefer once a week vs. twice a week or every day. Curious what ya'll are thinking on this topic! alan

    Hi Alan! Given that it's been a month since your post, do you have any new insights? I'm struggling with the same question, but haven't asked the class yet. I'm thinking that I'll need to have at least some of my class be synchronous, but a great deal of the in-person version of my course is designed to have students work independently anyway.
