their will be reading quizzes with immediate feedback. There will also be discussion posts that will address key topics throughout the semester. As far as  summative, there will be exams but more importantly, there will be an APA paper that will be a way for them to demonstrate their understanding of some of the theories of psychology.

    Do you mean quizzes at the start of class for outside readings? I have done this. Are the readings instead in class? It sounds like your course is synchronous. Is it? Mine will be mostly asynchronous.

    It will be asynchronous for the most part, but it will be modular and not at their own pace. Each module will have quizzes based on the readings and will have very little impact on their grade, but will hopefully let them know if they are understanding the important concepts.
