My students are often so focused on the grade they receive on assignments that they pay little attention to the descriptive feedback I give them. For lesson planning assignments, I’ve adopted the practice of giving feedback on the plan based on the grading rubric but WITHOUT a numeric grade. Students then have the opportunity to revise their plans based on the feedback, I’ve given and then I assign a grade.

Quizzes with multiple attempts

I think that as formative assessment, I will include multiple quizzes within each module. The students will see their incorrect responses immediately and the quizzes will allow multiple attempts so that students are getting feedback on their answers and getting the chance to learn from their mistakes. Students can begin the next topic when they have earned at least 80% on a quiz. I will also have larger-scale online quizzes/exams at the end of each module for summative assessment.
