Due Date: Initial post and responses are due no later than March 1, 2020

Assignment: Write a prompt with full directions for a discussion forum for the first or second week of class. Be sure to include a deadline, word count if any, responses required, and whether students should have citations.

Respond to at least one of your peers. Submit your prompt as text entry and respond to a colleague's by answering one of the following questions:

What type of feedback will students be able to receive based on this prompt?
Is the grading criteria clear and easy to understand? If not, how can it be further clarified?
How can student responses be incorporated into the class lecture or learning activities?
How does or can the prompt allow for different types of interaction?
How does or can the prompt require students to apply and reference the content presented in the course?
How does or can the prompt encourage students to think and reflect on what and how they are learning and its significance?

Tip! All responses should be CRISP: Considerate, Reflective, Interactive, Succinct, and Pertinent.

Grading Rubric:

Original Posting (5 points)

The deadline for the initial and reply post is clearly stated. (1 point)
The prompt description provides learners with context (1.5 points)
The prompt applies one of the 10 question types discussed in this module (1.5 points)
The length of the post is at least 50 words. ( 1 point)

Replies to Others’ Postings (5 points)

Learner responds to at least 1 colleague (1 point).
Question is fully addressed and stimulates further discussion (1.5 points)
Feedback mentions at least one point from this module's content (1.5 points)
Reply length is at least 50 words (1 point)

After last night's reading & warmup quiz and today's lecture & concept test you should be more aware of your misconceptions with the concepts of this lesson.

Write an original post about what confused you the most about today's lessons, see below for expectations of the post.
Also reply to a classmate's post by either letting them know you too are confused by that concept or by explaining the concept the way you understand it, expectations for this are also below.

Grading rubric:
Original Post (3 points)
(1.0 point) - The concept is clearly identified and defined.
(1.0 point) - A description of the confusing aspect of the concept.
(0.5 point) - Resources identified (usually your text, include Author, Title, and page number - no specific style required)
(0.5 point) - Spelling and grammar.

(0.5 point) - At least one response is given
(o.5 point) - Response helps to clarify post or adds additional support to the post

Love the grading posted

So I like that you gave the question some context. Making sure that the learner is making the connection between the previous day's material and the lesson today. I also really like your grading style and may actually "steal" it for my own forum!
I also chose a muddiest point forum idea, but was not really sure how to make the student respond to someone else, so the idea of having them commiserate with another student or simply try to explain the concept to the best of their knowledge is interesting.
