You have any completely and completely bonkers nightmare that you can't forget about. If it's...you know...okay with you, discuss it, and what you did with it afterwards.

What do you think they are? Representational? Random synapsis firing? A goblin on your chest? Go on!

  1. Nightmares

I rarely have complete nightmares. I may dream and see one or two things that frighten me or a sudden picture that wakes me up but rarely is it a complete story. Oddly in my dreams I’m often braver than in real life. I see creatures or animals (maybe snakes or cockroaches) and barely react but I know in real life that I’d be freaking out. After a dream that freaks me out enough to wake up I usually lay in bed for a few second trying to figure out what just happened. I’m most likely on edge and question everything surrounding me like “If I roll over will something be behind me?” or “Maybe I should pull my covers higher to make sure I’m extra safe…” Once I know everything is secure I’ll try to go back to sleep which normally doesn’t work so I’ll pick up my phone and watch youtube for a while until I forget about my nightmare.

My nightmares have changed from when I was a kid to now as an adult as I am sure is the same for everyone. I would have nightmares about the boogieman or other monsters like that. As an adult I rarely have nightmares, but when I do they are always about real life fears such as being shot or stabbed. Also I have a fear of heights so I will occasionally have the classic falling dream that makes me wake up instantly. I think nightmares are very representative of your true fears.

Now that I think about, nightmares have change over the years. There use to be a fear of something being under my bed or old mean teachers trying to hit me with a ruler. Now they don't happen as often but its more related to my anxiety of being in dark places.

When I was a kid I had a recurring dream about a secret door at my grandmas house that lead to a monochromatic world that was filled with living mannequins. Once they saw me they would try to pull me into there world. Somehow if I knew if I fell in It would be impossible for me to get out, and I would slowly turn into a mannequin. The mannequin didn't want to hurt me, but want to adopt me and turn me into their child.

I have recently had two very distinct nightmares. The first is one in which all of my teeth fell out and I had to see an emergency dentist. He told me I had 16 cavities and gum disease and when he injected something into my mouth, I woke up. Another dream I had taken place on an abandoned road. It felt like I was peddling myself in a child's wagon and I was being chased, but every time I looked back, there was nothing behind me. I think these dreams may have been due to the stress I have been feeling at work.
