No...really....what kind of monster would someone in our modern cultural zeitgeist be. I.E. If ________ were a monster, they would be a type of ________ and here's why.

It can be blazingly political if you want...set the world on fire, whatever. I'm curious.

  1. Jeff Bezos is already a monster...

The first thing I thought of was Trump but I didn’t want to get that political so I decided on Jeff Bezos. If he were a monster, he would be something like the alien from The Thing. It was hard to decided on what monster he would be because I’m not an expert on monsters. I chose the alien creature from The Thing because it was able take on a human form to do it’s damage. I see Jeff Bezos as a monster that because of his greed takes the lives of innocent people. He has WAY more money than he needs and could solve so many problems involving poverty. He is satisfied with giving 0.000001% of his money and thinking he did enough because he gave more than most people. Honestly, he gets me so angry because he sits on all that money that he won’t ever spend in his lifetime yet feels no need to help people that barely have enough money to live

The first person I think of as being a real life monster is Kim Jong-Un. He is a unpredictable leader of a communist country that is not too fond of the country we all live in. I am not exactly sure what kind of monster he would be, but I could see him being a man who is possessed by a demon or something like that. Kim Jong-Un and North Korea will always be a threat to America and the rest of the world.

I think you could make a monster situation out of the covid situation, and those who don't wear masks. Maybe instead of the people them self being the monster we make covid a monster like from "the Thing". A monster that can posses and mimic the appearance of people, at least for a short while. Then there could be a dived between people who want to stop the spread, and people who think the monster is some divine intervention that they are protected from. They could build a cult around the monster, and fighting against those who want to stop it.

If Michael Phelps were a monster, I can see him being some human-shark hybrid monster that would feed on those at sea. I can imagine this monster having beady, red eyes and Jaws-esq music would play whenever he is about to attack unsuspecting sailors. I think Michael Phelps's ability to swim and how competitive he is would make him the perfect fit for a sea monster.

A lot of people popped up in my head when thinking of who I could imagine as a monster. If I had to decide on someone, it would surely be Jeffrey Epstein. During this quarantine, there's been plenty of time to binge watch different shows and movies that you may not have had the chance to. One docuseries that I caught was "Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich". I was filled with disgust after hearing the horrific stories from the victims and the impact it had on their lives, while being abused by the wealthy and powerful sex offender. Pennywise the clown, from the movie "It", felt like a fitting comparison to Jeff. Pennywise is a cosmic evil that preys on children using the ability to shapeshift and manipulation. The dancing clown easily becomes likable before taking souls of the innocent children of this small town. I find it similar to the way Epstein would persuade kids with promises of granting their every wish but they would have to give up their body for sexual use in the process.
