Ah, several great story ideas here. Good work! The ones I'll encourage you to follow first are the most specific ones. In this order, I would vote for:

    - BLM at BSC
    - Theatre productions in the time of COVID
    - Seat at the Table
    - Study "abroad" in a pandemic

The increase on violence against women during covid is something I have thought about a lot too. I'd be interested to see what angle you'd take. Maybe talking to some people involved in the YWCA?
  3. Re: Story ideas
All of these stories are great! First Light Women's Shelter could also be a good source for the increase in domestic violence!
  4. Re: Story ideas
I'm really intrigued by the idea of violence against women during Covid. Would this be more U.S. based or would you also include a more Global view? There are a lot of stories about Mexican activists marching (pre-Corona) and currently involved in fighting violence against women and the rising numbers of femicide.

I think an even better question is how many students are familiar with the term "Seat at the table." I read a tweet the other day that said, "There's some atoning that needs to happen... so I'm bringing myself to the Yom Kippur table." I've heard that phrase a lot recently and it always seems to deal with someone making up for their mistakes.

I think the BLM story could be a great idea. Who put up the white boards? Is C3 behind the different yard signs of victims of police violence? How many students on campus sympathize with BLM? I also found it funny that the two post-it phrases on Pierce windows were "BLM" and "WAP." Like pick an issue.

As college aged students, we probably all know someone who is engaged or who was engaged during the past few months. What has that been like for couples? Have those couples had postpone weddings? Are more people getting engaged? Is quarantine bringing couples closer together?

I think a story about how people are doing weddings and other events would be super cool. I love parties and I'll follow whatever protocol needs to happen to make them happen.
